Because of Christ’s humiliation, because of His suffering and because of His crucifixion and death – his followers are no longer under the Law but under grace (Rom. 6:14). As James Denny once said, “It is not restraint but inspiration that liberates from sin; not Mount Sinai but Mount Calvary which makes saints.” The Mosaic Law declared us guilty but Jesus paid the debt, cleared our name and has set us free.
