In the closing remarks of Paul's letter to the church at Philippi the apostle offered several practical encouragements, among them to rejoice in the Lord, help others agree, to be gracious, to give every anxious thought to the Lord and meditate on praiseworthy things.

Taken separately, these are all great nuggets of encouragement but if we take them as a whole it becomes apparent that they all work together to promote, sustain, develop and manifest peace in believers hearts, in the church and towards the world into which we are to shine as lights for the Lord.
